New wurth.se is launched

The new wurth.se was recently launched with a completely new and future-proof technical platform. In a multi-year project, the PIM system, CMS platform, e-commerce system, and app have been updated to meet the future demands of the thousands of professionals and large purchasing departments that shop daily on wurth.se.
For over 10 years, wurth.se has been one of Sweden’s largest B2B e-commerce platforms, offering more than 50,000 products to tens of thousands of registered professionals, including electricians, carpenters, and mechanics, who can find everything they need (and more). The e-commerce platform, together with Würth’s strong sales force and extensive geographic presence, creates close customer relationships across Sweden and a competitive advantage for Würth.
The launch of the new wurth.se is a major step forward in digital development. In collaboration with Ninetech, we have combined industry-leading technology with tailored solutions to meet our customers’ needs—whether they shop via e-commerce, app, or an integrated solution. Ninetech has been an engaged, flexible, and reliable partner throughout the entire project, and we are very pleased with both the result and the collaboration. Together, we have created a platform that is both stable and future-proof, providing us with a strong foundation for continued growth in our digital sales, says Ulf Stenberg, Operations & Development Manager E-Business at Würth Svenska AB.
While the new wurth.se follows all best practices for the design and structure of a modern e-commerce solution, it also includes a wide range of customized, industry-specific solutions to meet the various demands within B2B and cater to different customer groups.
For several years, we have had a fantastic collaboration with our friends at Würth, gradually replacing old solutions and technology with new ones. We followed an overall plan but also managed to stay agile throughout the project to meet new demands or needs as they arose. The fact that the major launch could now take place smoothly and under full control is proof of the incredible teamwork between Ninetech and Würth. We also want to give credit to Consid for the collaboration in developing Würth’s new mobile app, says Jonas Aronsson, CEO of Ninetech.
Würth’s new technical platform at a glance:
- Inriver PIM on-prem has been upgraded to Inriver Product Marketing Cloud
- Optimizely CMS on-prem has been upgraded to Optimizely Content Cloud
- Optimizely Commerce has been replaced by a custom-built e-commerce solution based on Microsoft Azure and Ninetech Commerce Components.
